Policies & Client Service Agreement

Guiding Hands Navigation provides companion-style family navigation support for parents and caregivers raising children and youth with disabilities. My role is to walk alongside families by offering clarity, preparation, emotional support, and next-step guidance as they navigate systems such as education, services, and diagnoses.

Please review the policies below before booking a service.

Client Service Agreement

By booking services with Guiding Hands Navigation, you understand and agree to the following:

Nature of Services

Guiding Hands Navigation offers family navigation companion support. Services may include:

  • Guidance and clarification around systems and processes

  • Emotional support and grounding

  • Preparation for meetings and documents

  • Resource sharing and next-step planning

I am not a lawyer, educational advocate, case manager, or medical provider.

I do not provide legal advice, educational advocacy, medical care, or mental health treatment.

Scope & Limitations

My role is to support and empower families by helping them:

  • Understand information

  • Organize thoughts and documents

  • Prepare for conversations and meetings

  • Feel less overwhelmed while making informed decisions

I do not:

  • Represent families in a legal or advocacy capacity

  • Make decisions on behalf of families

  • Replace school teams, service providers, or case managers

Communication & Boundaries

To protect both families and the quality of care:

  • Communication takes place via scheduled calls and email only

  • Texting is not offered

  • Email responses are provided within 1–2 business days

  • Support outside scheduled services is limited to clarification related to the booked service

Scheduling, Cancellations & Missed Appointments

  • Appointments must be attended as scheduled

  • A 24-hour notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling

  • Missed appointments without notice may be forfeited and are not eligible for a refund

Refund Policy

  • Document-based services (such as IEP reviews) are non-refundable once work has begun

  • Completed sessions and attended meetings are non-refundable

  • Monthly support services are non-refundable once the support period has started

Confidentiality

All personal information shared is kept confidential and used solely for the purpose of providing support, unless disclosure is required by law.

Emergency Disclaimer

Guiding Hands Navigation does not provide crisis or emergency services.

If you or your child are in immediate danger, please contact 911 or your local emergency services.

Agreement Acknowledgment

By booking a service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the policies and Client Service Agreement outlined above.
