FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I book a session?
You can book in two ways: (1) Visit our booking page and select your service, or (2) fill out our contact form with your request. We'll reach out within 48 hours to confirm your session time.
What's the difference between companion support and legal advocacy?
Companion support means we help you understand, process, and move forward with clarity. We're not lawyers, and we don't provide legal advice. If you need legal advocacy, we can recommend resources and advocates in the Richmond area. We're here to walk alongside you as a trusted guide.
Are sessions virtual or in-person?
We offer both! When you book (via our booking page, phone, email, or contact form), let us know your preference, and we'll make it work. Most of our sessions are conducted virtually via video call, but we also offer in-person sessions in the Richmond area.
How much do services cost?
Pricing varies by service. Individual sessions range from $35 to $200, depending on length and depth. Learning experiences and multi-week packages are priced separately. We offer payment plans (2 equal payments) for services $150+. Contact us for specific pricing on the service you're interested in.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! We work with families on payment arrangements. For services priced at $150 or above, we offer 2 equal payments. If you need a different arrangement, reach out using any of our contact methods, and we'll work together to find something that fits your budget.
What if I need to reschedule my session?
Life happens! We understand that schedules change. You can reschedule up to days before your session with no penalty. Cancellations within 2 days may incur a fee (see our cancellation policy). Contact us as soon as possible if you need to reschedule—call, email, or use our contact form.
What if I'm not satisfied with my session?
Your satisfaction matters to us. If you're not satisfied with your experience, please let us know within 48 hours of your session. We'll work with you to address your concerns, offer a follow-up conversation, or discuss other options. Reach out using any method that's convenient for you.
How do you handle confidentiality?
Everything you share with us is confidential and protected. We don't share information with schools, doctors, or anyone else without your express permission. The only exception is if we believe there's an imminent risk of harm.
What if my child is with me during the session?
That's fine! We understand that childcare isn't always available. Just let us know when you book so we can plan accordingly. Some sessions may be more conducive to having children present than others.
Do you work with families outside Richmond?
Yes! We serve families throughout Virginia and beyond via virtual sessions. If you're in the Richmond area, we can also offer in-person sessions.
What documents should I bring to a document review session?
For a document review, please send us copies of any documents you'd like us to review at least 48 hours before your session. This gives us time to read and prepare. Common documents include IEPs, evaluation reports, progress reports, and assessment results. You can email them or include them when you contact us.
Can you attend my IEP meeting or school meeting?
Yes! That's what our Meeting Attendance Support service is for. Please contact us at least two weeks before your meeting so we have time to prepare with you. We can attend in person (Richmond area) or virtually, depending on the meeting format. Use any contact method to reach out.
